Nate was born and raised in DC in both Ward 7 and Ward 8. Nate graduated from Morehouse College and received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Nate also studied public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and is currently completing his dissertation in education at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nate was elected citywide and served as DC’s Shadow Representative to Congress from 2013-2015, where he helped revive the DC Statehood movement. Nate has worked as both a Legislative Director and a Committee Director for Ward 8 DC Councilmember Trayon White. As a DC Council Committee Director, Nate was responsible for more than $500 million of the DC Budget. Nate and his wife live in the Deanwood community.
