Jamie Gauthier

Candidate for City Council D3, Philadelphia, PA

Jamie Gauthier grew up in West Philly. It’s where she’s raising her two sons. It’s where her parents instilled in her the importance of education and working with others to build a strong community. It’s where she learned how important it is to stand up for those too often pushed aside.

After graduating from Central High School, Jamie received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Temple University and her Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.

West Philly shaped Jamie’s life, and inspired her to dedicate her career fighting for fairness, equality, and justice. She was elected to city council in 2020 and over the past four years, she has led the charge to stop gun violence in Philadelphia, and her tireless efforts led to a record $70 million investment in funding for gun violence prevention and programs in 2022.

We are endorsing Jamie for re-election because we know she will keep working hard to empower the people most affected by violence and injustice by:

  • Supporting community leaders and organizers committed to interrupting the cycle of violence.
  • Prioritizing the expansion of trauma-informed programs and services.
  • Creating opportunities for returning citizens to access stable housing and employment.
