Grassroots Law PAC is a political action committee (PAC) that helps elect candidates who fight to end oppressive policing, incarceration, and injustice.
About Grassroots Law PAC
The truth is that most change happens at the local level. While federal action is important, we support candidates at every level who advance justice for their communities. The hundreds of local, state, and federal systems that make up our criminal legal system are administered by people in positions of power who have shown they are willing to do whatever it takes to maintain these systems, so it is more important than ever that we replace these bad actors.
Because the systems and structures we’re up against are deeply organized, we must commit to being even more organized and leveraging our skills, expertise, and passions to elect people who will radically transform the criminal legal system in the United States.
These plans for change need to be well-resourced in order to take on our opponents who have big money. If you can, click here to make a donation.
Relation to Real Justice PAC
Real Justice PAC is an affiliated political action committee (PAC) that elects civil rights-minded prosecutors who use the powers of their office to reduce mass incarceration, police violence, and injustice. Here’s the strategy:
- Recruit prosecutors who will make a material impact on people’s lives by reducing incarceration, racism, and police violence while creating real solutions for public safety.
- Utilize a systematic, mass participation approach to digital and field to win prosecutor races by the widest possible margin – and with a mandate for real justice.
- Protect elected prosecutors against assaults on their offices from racist police groups and ultra-wealthy conservatives as backlash to the movement grows.
Through years of deep organizing, we have learned that true transformation is possible when prosecutors can work hand-in-hand with allies at every level of office. That’s why the work of Grassroots Law PAC and Real Justice combined makes a huge impact.
